This 2 day course is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to start lead climbing outdoors.
This course will accelerate your learning and give you the skills and knowledge to take your climbing to the next level. You will learn how to belay, lead and clean single pitch rock climbs.
Prior experience top rope climbing is necessary.
Itinerary: (Can vary slightly depending on the destination.)
we will meet up at 9am and then head up to a local rock climbing venue. We will spend the next two days climbing and getting hands on experience with the techniques and skills necessary to become a confident lead climber.

Ground anchors for belaying a lead climber
How to fall safely

Making safe transitions at the anchor while lead climbing
Techniques to stay safe while approaching the cliff edge
Safe Rappelling techniques
Safe retreating techniques for the leader
Simulated leads to practice lead climbing systems
Managing high first bolts
Movement skills training and development.
Introduction to rescue systems for lead climbers
Introduction to traditional rock protection placement, cleaning and anchor construction.
Transportation:
Any regular vehicle will suffice. NSM can provide transportation for up to 4 guests.
Meals:
Lunch for the day is provided
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions in advance
If you have food allergies it is recommended to pack your own lunch.

Clothing appropriate for the weather and allowing a full range of movement.
